KARYN ZIALOR
Karyn was born in Seychelles and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts Mixed Media from the University of Westminster in 2019.
Since then she has served as the Assistant Curator at the Seychelles National Museums and now as a Curator for Creative Seychelles Agency.
She is an interdisciplinary fine artist whose work explores the ways in which culture, societal nuances, natural landscapes and political history all contribute to how individuals present themselves to the world. Her work follows her own heritage from the Seychelles and extends globally through her travels, stories told by friends and through her readings. Karyn allows her art to be guided by time and context, and she allows the art to flow through her to decide which media to use for her practice. Her works focus on abstract and mixed media paintings, silk screens and digital printmaking on fabric using designs that she makes using her photos and paintings.
Karyn’s work has been featured at the Women’s Pavilion at the Dubai Expo alongside 14 other Seychelloise women artists; as one of 7 Seychelloise artist 2nd edition of MIAF and most recently at the Seychelles Biennale where she was not only the youngest Seychellois artist but also learning the ropes as an assistant to the curator.
