ANTOINE MERVYN MONNAIE

Antoine Mervyn Monnaie is a young artist from La Digue.  
He studied and gained his Bachelor’s degree in China, in Illustration. Some of his drive to work comes from the different perspectives he learned in that environment, saying it helped him develop his thought process in creativity and decision making.

Monnaie’s  paintings are just at the intersection of realism and fantasy. He is interested in creating illustrative paintings that can share emotion/message to the viewers but he also interprets subject matter around us, the ambiguous and the beautiful. He visualizes the subject and makes it rich and beautiful.
He tries to make sure parts of his painting catches the eye, whether through small details or the careful planning of the colours.
