BIRGITT LUEBKEMANN

Birgitt Luebkemann was born in 1965 in Hanover, Birgitt Lübkemann initially concentrated on a commercial career.
After graduating from high school and a business language school in 1985, she completed an economics apprenticeship and worked in the logistics sector for 25 years, more than half of this time as an international manager.
Since her earliest childhood, the artist has experimented with a wide variety of painting materials in every free moment. From watercolour to acrylic and airbrush techniques, she finally found her way to oil paint, her favourite medium since she first travelled to the Seychelles in 1996.

This journey and many others changed her view towards work and life. After a test term in 1997 and many winter months in the Seychelles, she decided in 2011 to end her management activities and to concentrate on colours and canvas instead. Today, her work is a deep dive into the natural world at macro level.  The colours, forms and textures in her work are organic, inspired by nature and a beautiful alchemy of technique and intuitive feeling.  Birgitt lives and works on the island of La Digue, Seychelles.
