RUTH LOUISE

 

Ruth Louise – a young Neo-Classical Contemporary Dancer who believes in hard work, dedication and discipline with regards her daily trainings and teaching.

 Ruth works as an artistic director, dance instructor, choreographer, and dancer at the National Conservatoire of Performing Arts Seychelles (NCPA). Since April 2011, she is employed with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and enjoys teaching and performing.

She made her debut at the age of 12 at the School of Dance end of year show and always gave her best performance on stage,  participating in a “Choreography Competition” organized by the School. At the age of 13, Ruth’s determination and hard work won her the title of Best Dancer of the Year and Best Choreographer. From 1998 to 2002, she won numerous titles; Best Dancer, Overall Winner, and Best Choreographer from which she got the title“The Little Dancer.” In 2003 at age 16, she received a scholarship to study dance at the Ballet Creole School in Canada for a year and upon her return to Seychelles, joined the School of Dance as a part-time instructor. She continued to pursue her dancing by taking up the Imperial Society Teachers of Dancing ( I S T D ) exams in ballet and modern techniques. Her birthday wish came true when she received a scholarship to study at Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).

Ruth has choreographed for many national and international events namely Carnaval International de Victoria, Festival Creole, Island Games and Miss Seychelles. In addition, she prepares students for ISTD exams for ballet and modern dance.
