« OCEAN AND CLIMATE: EXCHANGES FOR LIFE »
8 JUNE – 15 JULY 2022
On June 8, the world celebrated World Oceans Day. On this occasion, the exhibition “Ocean and Climate: exchanges for life”, produced by the Research Institute for Development (IRD) is open to the public until July 15.
The opening took place last week at the Alliance Française des Seychelles (AFS) with guests Ambassador of France in Seychelles Dominic Mas, the director of the AFS Emily Moutu as well as several artists and environmentalists. The IRD representative in Seychelles, Dr. Francis Marsac explained that with this exhibition, the public will be able to discover the links that exist between the oceans and the climate, a natural mechanism at the origin of life in the oceans and which also affects life on earth.
“This year we started with the viewing of a film on environmental change followed by a debate with young people. We depend a lot on water and it is up to us to preserve it,” added Dr. Marsac.
