On the occasion of the 28th edition of the "semaine de la Francophonie" which will take place from 18 March to 26 March, the Alliance Française of Seychelles, the Seychellois Association of French Teachers and the National Commission of the Francophonie are partners for the Francophonie Day 2023 (Journee de la Francophonie).
International Francophonie Week celebrates the French language around the world. The 320 million French speakers on 5 continents celebrate their shared language and the diversity of the Francophonie, through word competitions, shows, film festivals, literary meetings, gastronomic events, artistic exhibitions; but also displays a range of music and fashion.
The Republic of Seychelles has been a full member of the 'Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie' (OIF) since June 1976, and has 3 official languages: Seychellois Creole, English and French.
It is in this context that the Alliance Française des Seychelles, the Seychellois Association of French Teachers and the Commission Nationale de la Francophonie are mobilizing to share French culture and language with the public. The program for this edition aimed at all audiences and schools to actively participate in the festivities of Francophonie Week.
