"RETROSPECTIVE" EXHIBITION AT ALLIANCE FRANCAISE DES SEYCHELLES

At the Alliance Française of Seychelles, Allen Gervais Comettant celebrates his “30 years of creativity” with a special exhibition entitled 'Retrospective'. This exhibition presents 30 unique paintings which bear witness to the artistic journey of the Seychellois artist.

Allen Gervais Comettant was born on April 7, 1973 on the island of Mahé and spent most of his childhood in Anse Etoile. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in the arts, and in 1991, at the age of 18, he decided to devote himself fully to it. He continued his studies at the Seychelles Polytechnic School of Arts & Design, where he graduated with honors in graphic arts. He even won an award as the school's most dedicated student.

Fascinated by Chinese artistic techniques, he then traveled to China to study fashion design. There, traditional Chinese art deeply inspired him, and upon his return to Seychelles, he integrated the characteristics of this art into his artistic technique, which was fundamentally Seychellois.
