GOLTY
Golty Farabeau is a well loved and respected musician from Pointe Larue, Mahe, who has been playing guitar since he was 6 years old. Supporting many famous Seychellois artists and bands over the years, playing guitar and bass. He has produced 11 solo albums to date.
A self-taught musician, Golty first toured professionally as a teenager, playing bass for a well-known Mauritian artist. Since then has travelled widely across the world, becoming a major name and well regarded for his rich vocals, unique basslines and great talent as a composer,.
His own chosen highlights include playing at the Montreux Jazz Fesival in 1993, his group making a Swatch advert in the same year, receiving a gold medal at the Isles Jeux de la Francophonie in Madagascar in 1997, playing alongside Bitty McClean in 2000, participating in Fete Afrique in 2002.
Golty settled in the UK 20 years ago, becoming a popular performer on the Northwest inde music scene, where his performances have included the Cultural College Music Festival in Manchester, Mintfest, Manchester International Festival and Blue Dot festival. Golty often performs solo as well as with his band The Jahmadou, He travels home to Seychelles regularly to collaborate and release albums.
