ABOUT US

The Seychelles Cultural Foundation

The Seychelles Cultural Foundation is a cultural organisation founded by Rene Rietmeyer, Martin Kennedy, Nina Comini, Karyn Zialor, Mariaan Laubscher and Michelle Morden, and originates back to 2023. Today we are an ever-expanding group of diverse people who would like to make a positive difference. We care about humanity and about the overall state and direction of our world.
With this in mind, doing nothing is not an option.

We have created a dynamic organisation which documents and promotes Seychelles culture as a total.
We are devoted to generate cultural exchange by promoting national and Seychelles-related international cultural events. Not only with Seychellois but together with people from all around the world.

More specifically: To promote and exhibit Seychelles visual artists, and Seychelles culture as a whole, domestically and internationally. To establish a liaison between Seychelles Cultural Foundation and other relevant art cultural associations, organisations, institutions and individuals globally. To exhibit the work of international artists in Seychelles in order to further develop contemporary visual arts and stimulate international cultural exchange. To raise and maintain a common fund for the purpose of furthering the activities of the association. To develop networking for Seychellois artists and all other people active in culture, at national, international, corporate, gallery and personal levels.

Our goal is to create awareness, to strengthen our cultural commons, to cherish our uniqueness and to learn about the qualities within our differences. We believe that progress is best made by creating a deeper awareness about the serious challenges we all face today. We try to bring people from different cultures together in the hope that we will all learn from each other.

Naturally we have our own opinions and we do like to promote our own values, values in which we strongly believe. We are a non-political and non-religious organisation, open to all people and to all points of view, as long as they are respectful of the freedom,  dignity and rights of every single living being.

The Seychelles Cultural Foundation provides the conditions to invite and promote artistic and creative practices, a direct interaction with a multitude of intellectual and cultural art forms [visual arts, dance, performance, theatre, music, literature, architecture, etc.].
